On the face of the printed form of the bill of lading, there are the following essential columns which must be filled in:
1. Name of shipper
2. Name of consignee
3. The person or party to be notified at destination
4. Name of carrying vessel
5. Port of loading
6. Port of discharge
7. Place at which freight is to be paid or mode of payment
8. Particulars of cargo carried
9. Date and place of issue
10. Amount of freight and charges(in most cases the words ”as arranged”)are shown
11. Signature of Master (on behalf of carrier or his agent)

If the name and address of the consignee are given in column (2) above, the bill of lading becomes a nonnegotiable straight bill of lading, and only the named consignee is entitled to take delivery of the cargo at destination.
If this column shows “order”, “order of shipper” or “order of ***” , the instrument is an order bill of lading and can be negotiated by endorsement.
The person or party to be notified at destination, as is required to be shown in column (3), is merely for the carrier’s guidance. As a rule, the carrier is not obliged to serve individual notice to Receivers when the carrying ship is a regular liner.
In the case of a straight bill of lading under which the cargo is consigned to a named consignee, column (3) is always left blank.
Column (4) relates to the name of the carrying vessel. The bill of lading of the China Ocean Shipping company includes two additional columns for “voyage” and “Nationality” of the vessel, but in bills of lading of most shipping companies overseas these two columns are dispensed with.

在面对传统的印刷形式的提单, 有以下几个主要栏目必须填写:
1 . 发货人姓名
2 . 收货人姓名
3 . 候选人或政党被通知在目的地
4 . 名称运载船
5 . 装货港
6 . 卸货港
7 . 地点运费是要支付或付款方式
8 . 详情货物
9 . 日期和地点问题
10 . 数额运费和费用(在大多数情况下"安排" ) 等
11 . 签字硕士(代表承运人或其代理人)
收货人的名称和地址,收货人如 ( 2 )栏所述,提单成了直线流通提单而只有指定的收货人是有权提取货物的目的地. 如果此栏显示"命令" , "秩序托运人"或"命令*** " 该仪器是一个以提单的,可以谈判的背书. 候选人或政党被通知在目的地,如须列专栏( 3 ) , 只是承运人的指导. 作为一项规则, 承运人没有义务为个别通知接收机当舰艇是一个定期班轮. 的情况直线提单下的货物交付给指定的收货人, ( 3 )栏是空白. 专栏( 4 )涉及姓名的运载船. 提单由中国远洋运输公司,包括另外两个栏目, "远航"和"国籍"的船,但在提单大部分船公司海外这两栏都是33% .
